VIFF's Code of Conduct

VIFF’s mission is to celebrate excellence in screen-based storytelling and we pride ourselves on offering our guests unique and unforgettable experiences.

With this in mind, we all have a part to play in ensuring that our members, volunteers, guests and staff are treated with respect. This includes allowing audience members to view a film without disruption and ensuring that everyone experiences a festival free of any kind of harassment or discrimination.

VIFF takes our responsibility to create an inclusive and welcoming environment seriously and we appreciate your support to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the festival.

VIFF's definition of inappropriate behaviour includes any form of verbal or physical abuse, the use of derogatory or discriminatory language, any form of harassment, racism, sexism or any other targeted comments which may cause personal offense to anybody participating in the festival. This includes in-person incidents, email communication, interactions on the VIFF App and through social media channels.

VIFF may take action, at its discretion, to address any individual/s or group/s engaging in inappropriate behaviour. This may include revoking passes or access to VIFF events.

Please contact if you believe you have witnessed or experienced a violation of this Code of Conduct and VIFF will work to investigate and address the situation.
