High School Program
Last year, VIFF welcomed over 1,500 secondary students to experience exceptional cinema from around the world.
From stories of youth exploring identity to films that capture historical moments and reveal previously untold stories, great cinema develops critical thinking skills, provides exposure to different perspectives and ignites imaginations. Be they set in Haida Gwaii, Palestine, France or Singapore, these stories will connect young audiences with some of the most powerful forces shaping our contemporary world and identities.
This year, we’ve expanded the frame of our high school program! Teachers will now have access to teacher resource guides tailored to each film. Written with reference to BC’s new curriculum, these resources will facilitate engaged discussion from the cinema to the classroom and beyond.
