“STOP BY. SHOOT FILM”
Join us for a hands-on opportunity to capture images on Kodak super 16mm motion picture film! For all you aspiring videographers, producers, directors and students, come learn the basics of using a Super 16mm film camera under the supervision of professional cinematographers! Topics will include: an introduction to motion picture film; 16mm camera operations; choosing film stocks; use of light meters; exposure; using lenses and filters; framing and shooting. Following some basic training, participants will “SHOOT” film and, after the event, will receive a DVD of their footage.
And the best thing of all - these workshops are FREE. Workshops will take place at the Scotia Bank Dance Centre (677 Davie Street) located immediately behind the Vancouver International Film Centre during the following times: Wednesday, Sept. 27th 9:30 am - 11:00 am; 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm; 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm and Thursday, Sept 28th 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Free Speed Dating Sessions!
Designed for emerging and transitioning filmmakers, these free sessions (for forum delegates) are the perfect opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with broadcasters and senior local producers, pitch projects, get feedback and forge new relationships!
The meetings are scheduled for Thursday, September 28 and Friday, September 29, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Each filmmaker will get a ten-minute appointment with a broadcaster or senior producer of their choice. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and applicants must have purchased a Forum pass or individual ticket to be eligible for participation. Packaging Roundtables

These roundtables are breakout sessions designed to complement the panel Finding The Budget Sweet Spot . Attendees must have purchased either a Forum Delegate Pass or an individual ticket to the previously mentioned session to gain admittance. Industry Hour makes its debut during this year's forum and festival at the Vancouver International Film Centre. This is the ideal opportunity for the local film and television community to meet with international festival and forum guests in a relaxed atmosphere throughout the festival, Sept. 27 – October 14, 5pm to 6:00 pm daily.
