VIFF Awards
Beginning in 1988 when the VIFF gave out its first "Most
Popular Film" prize to Some Girls, the Festival has offered
a number of awards, both adjudicated and voted on by you, the
audience, to deserving films. These awards are:
The People's Choice Award For Most Popular International Film
Each year, the audience determines this important awards.
The 2005 winner of the People's Choice Award for Most Popular International Film was Rahu Mihaileanu's LIVE AND BECOME (Israel/France).
Runner-up for Most Popular International Film is Josh Gilbert 's AKA TOMMY CHONG (USA).
Following is a list of the 25 next most popular international films of the 2004 Festival, in order of popularity. These films were all very well attended, substantially voted for, and averaged between 4 and 5 out of 5 (4 being "very good"; 5 being "excellent") in public voting. Please note that Canadian films have their own separate category.
