DeNave is Head of Drama and Comedy
at TV3, New Zealand. She co-created NZ's
first 5-day-a week serial Shortland
Street which is still running after
13 years and a swag of international
award-winning children's drama including
Children of the Dog Star and
Steel Riders. DeNave has produced
and directed in film and television for
25 years, primarily in all forms of drama
from shorts through to features.
She has also worked in the UK and Australia.
In April 2004, during the WIFT-I Summit
held in Auckland, DeNave was one of four
mentors to six international filmmakers
during the WIDC International Live Mentorship
Session. Making an obvious connection
with Canadians at the Summit she has since
been a guest speaker at the NSI Film Exchange,
Banff World Television Festival and will
mentor five Canadian women filmmakers
at the WIDC Alumnae Mentorship Workshop.
