Cathy Chilco is an established television producer/director with special expertise in programming for youth and children on an international basis. Chilco’s current productions include the Gemini award-winning Suzuki Speaks, a one-hour television special with David Suzuki and The Life & Times Of Umberto Menghi. Wilbur, a children’s puppet/live-action/animation TV series is in pre-production with Discovery US and CBC. Most recently, Chilco was vice president/executive producer of international production at Sesame Workshop in New York City. Chilco was responsible for all productions of Sesame Street outside of the US. Her primary emphasis was on initiating new versions of Sesame Street in countries such as Russia, South Africa, China, Egypt and an unprecedented co-production between Israelis and Palestinians, honoured with the prestigious Japan Prize. Prior to this, Chilco produced and directed many award-winning specials and series, including Pilot 1, Futurescan, Canadian Sesame Street and Venture, primarily with CBC in Toronto and Vancouver.
