International Financing and the Marketplace
TF08

Sources of independent financing have been drying up for the past few years. Top producers have difficulty in securing financing based on pre-sales. Gap financing is also in short supply, as banks have grown wary of lending money on the basis of projections. Raising money from equity investors has always been challenging but when the economy is sluggish, it can seem almost impossible to raise funds for a risky investment like film. So what’s a filmmaker to do? This panel will focus on the economies of major markets and new developments and trends in worldwide finance.
