Theatre Procedures

All programs are subject to change. Please check “Daily Updates” in our Vancouver Sun ads. No refunds or exchanges can be given, except in the case of a program cancellation. Important: In the event of a refund, you will be required to show your ticket stub. All ticket holders will be required to show their membership cards or to purchase one. If you are waiting to purchase tickets, please have your membership card and money ready.

To effectively manage the changeover between screenings, all patrons already holding admission tickets for the next screening will be asked to remain in their seats and our staff will collect their tickets. This advance calculation of attendance will more effectively enable us to inform line-ups as to seat availability.

Passes

A generous allotment of seats is reserved for passholders at each screening. While a pass does not guarantee seating, passholders are given priority until either that allotment has been reached or until 20 minutes prior to showtime. After that, passholders must join the ticket purchase line and take their chances. For each venue’s specific procedures, please see details below. All passes are strictly non-transferable and photo I.D. may be asked for at the theatre.

Pacific Cinémathèque, Ridge,
VISA Screening Room @ The Vogue

There are generally three line-ups at these theatres: one for passholders, one for advanced ticket holders and one for those wishing to purchase tickets. If you are a passholder planning to attend consecutive screenings at the same venue, you will need to get a second-screening “door entry ticket” while in line for your first screening. The recording of passes and distribution of second-screening “door entry tickets” will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of second-screening “door entry tickets” is limited and when this allotment has been reached additional passholders will have to join the appropriate line-up outside the theatre.

Granville 7
At our multiplex venue, the Granville 7, we are continuing with the VIFF Registration Desk. When arriving at the Granville 7 for a screening, passholders will register their pass type and receive a “door entry ticket.” The recording of pass types and distribution of “door entry tickets” will be on a first-come, first-served basis. When all “door entry tickets” are distributed, the passholder allotment for that screening will have been reached and passholders will have to join the ticket purchase line and take their chances. “Door entry tickets” will be available for all same-day screenings as of 9:30 a.m. Advanced ticket holders arriving at the Granville 7 will follow posted signage and either line up or enter the appropriate theatre.

Rush Tickets

Day-of-show tickets for all screenings may be purchased at the individual venues starting 30 minutes prior to the first screening of the day at that venue, based on availability. If a particular screening’s allotment of advance tickets has sold out, rush tickets are usually available 20 minutes before show time. Only cash sales at venues.
