Asian Contemporary Speaker Series: Phil Tinari

On/Off: The Double Consciousness of China’s Newest Generation of Artists

March 11, 2013

The rise of Asia on the international scene is one of the most compelling stories in contemporary art. Today, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Tokyo and Beijing are major hubs for contemporary art, competing directly with London and New York. In order to understand this phenomenon and its connection to economic and political power, the Asia Contemporary Speaker Series presents a lecture by Phil Tinari, Director of the Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art, Beijing.

Presented by the Canadian Art Foundation International Speaker Series in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada’s National Conversation on Asia and the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Doors open at 6:30pm, Lecture begins at 7:00pm.

Tickets are $10, free for Vancouver Art Gallery Members and students (with ID).

Tickets available at the door.
