VIFF Souvenir Program Advertising Rates 2007 With over 300 films, 500 screenings and 151,000 film fans in attendance, the Vancouver International Film Festival is considered one of the largest film events on the continent. The Souvenir Program is a 208-page glossy magazine distributed to Festival attendees for $8 and supplied free to industry professionals and advertisers.The program reaches thousands of filmgoers and functions as the event's prime promotional and marketing tool. Distribution of festival programs starts ten days prior to the Festival's opening and is the essential guide throughout the Festival's duration.The magazine remains a souvenir with many households for years as a valuable film reference tool. Festival Demographics VIFF’s audience is comprised predominantly of young, well-educated urban professionals (61 percent) and students (19 percent) who mainly live in Vancouver and surrounding communities. Highlights • Almost half (48%) of VIFF’s audience are aged 34 or under • 77% have at least some university • The first language of three out of four attendees is English. Format Requirements:
The guide is laid out in QuarkXpress on a Mac platform. We prefer to receive your ad as a pdf file, but if you are using a Mac you can send rip-ready files in InDesign, QuarkXpress, Photoshop, or Illustrator. Remember to include all linked files and fonts, and a hardcopy proof.
If you are using any platform other than Mac, pdf files are the only way to minimize problems. Pdf files must be prepared by:1. First printing to a postscript file 2. Then distilling the postcript file using Distiller that comes with Adobe Acrobat version.Don't enable any color management while doing this.
