VIFF Awards
Beginning in 1988 when the VIFF gave out its first "Most Popular Film" prize to Some Girls, the Festival has offered a number of awards, both adjudicated and voted on by you, the audience, to deserving films. These awards are:
Adjudicated Awards
Audience Awards
- Rogers People's Choice Award For Most Popular International Film
- Vancity People's Choice Award For Most Popular Canadian Film
Each year, the audience determines this important award. Don't forget to vote in 2007! You could win a $500 Mytreat VISA gift card. One vote per person per film.
VIFF audiences love Canadian films, and 2007 was no exception. The winner of the Vancity People’s Choice Award for Most Popular Canadian Film went to SHE’S A BOY I KNEW, directed by Gwen Haworth of Vancouver. The winner was announced by Vancity chief executive officer, Tamara Vrooman.
Thanks for playing your part. Your votes helped detemine these winners and your participation is much appreciated.
Films are ranked based on the number of ballots received and average rating. The information provided by the ballots not only determines the award winning films, but also provides feedback to the Festival and to the party that has kindly supplied the film.
