Tracey Friesen joined the National Film Board as producer in 2001 and six years later became executive producer of the studio in Vancouver. Tracey’s numerous NFB credits including the award winning titles Bone Wind Fire, Mighty Jerome and Force of Nature: The David Suzuki Movie. She has been a champion of emerging filmmaker initiatives at her studio such as Our World for aboriginal youth in remote communities, AccessNFB for media makers with disabilities, and DOXA’s Connexion Program for recent female film school graduates. Tracey has worked as an editor, visual effects producer and was director of sales at Rainmaker. Actively involved in the Vancouver film community, she is a member of the Academy, Women in Film & Television, DOC and sits as an affiliate guest with MPPIA. Passionate about education, Tracey has a BA from each of Ryerson and UBC, and an MA and MBA from SFU.
