Julia Benson
Title: Actor/Writer/Producer, Death Do Us Part

Julia Benson graduated from The University of British Columbia with a Major in Theater and a Minor in Psychology. Since then, she has been thriving as an actor in the film and television industry. Julia has starred in numerous television series and movies of the week, and is most widely recognized for her fan-favorite role as Vanessa James on the critically acclaimed Stargate Universe, a role for which she received the 2010 Leo Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Aside from her performing credits, Julia has also been honing her creative skills behind the camera. In 2009, Julia was selected to participate in the prestigious National Screen Institute (NSI) Totally Television Program for a comedy series that she co-created. The series went on to get a development deal with City TV and in 2010 Julia served as an Executive Producer when the pilot episode was ordered.
In 2011, Julia co-founded Nine Worlds Entertainment with her husband Peter Benson and their producing partner Ryan Copple. Nine Worlds has just completed their first feature film, Death Do Us Part, which Julia co-wrote, starred in and produced. They have also co-created a comedy series entitled Just Friends, which has been in development with BBC Worldwide Productions. Currently, Julia is working on pre-production for her upcoming feature film, What an Idiot. Julia is producing and starring in the film alongside her husband Peter. Production is scheduled for December 2012.
