Dan Fairchild, Ph.D.
Cooperative, empathic interviewing can help you understand
your subject as they understand themselves--a result that
originates in using effective interpersonal methods while
maintaining an available, nonjudgemental stance. Dan Fairchild,
Ph.D., received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and
his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of
Miami. For over 20 years he directed multiple programs for
children & families and maintained a private practice,
where he conducted couples therapy, clinical assessment, and
brief individual treatment. He taught courses in interview
techniques and individualized clinical assessment at two graduate
schools, and supervised interns, practicum students, and clinical
staff from multiple universities. He has presented over 200
workshops on a variety of topics for professional and public
audiences. Moving to Vancouver from Miami and becoming a Canadian
citizen, Dan is on the Board of two local advocacy groups
for the elderly, is the Official Photographer for the Vancouver
Sculpture Biennale, and has volunteered at the Film &
Television Forum for 9 years.
