Marketing – the final frontier of Canadian indie features – remains an often elusive, exhausting and sometimes very expensive afterthought. This year, the VIFF Forum confronts the marketing issue head on. Focusing the spotlight on the BC-made indie feature Camera Shy, this session brings together marketing experts in advertising, social media, digital deployment and PR for a fly-on-the-wall type soft pitch of the most ideal – and attainable - marketing strategy. Camera Shy, directed by Mark Sawers and produced by Leah Mallen and Galen Fletcher, is a black comedy about a corrupt city councilman whose life spins out of control after a mysterious cameraman begins terrorizing him. Join this one-of-a-kind session to learn the tricks of the trade that can vault your indie film to the forefront in today’s competitive marketplace.
