Getting Real/ Toute la vérité : An Economic Profile of the Canadian Documentary Production Industry
Open to Doc Day Pass and Forum Pass holders (pre-registration not required).
The Documentary Organization of Canada will launch the third edition of their critical industry study: Getting Real/ Toute la vérité : An Economic Profile of the Canadian Documentary Production Industry . The launch will take place at the Film and Television Forum on Documentary Day, Wednesday, September 26 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Getting Real provides data and statistical trends on all facets of the documentary production industry, from series production to Point of View documentaries to critical information on emerging and alternative platforms. Getting Real describes a diverse and vital industry, with staggering growth over the last 10 years, but one that now sees a portion of the industry in peril, without adequate funding mechanisms put into place. Getting Real Steering Committee member Rudy Buttignol (President and CEO of Knowledge Network) will deliver opening remarks, followed by a brief presentation by Samantha Hodder, Executive Director, Documentary Organization of Canada. Join us for a sandwich buffet.
