Films For Youth + High School Program

VIFF HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM + OTHER FILMS THAT ARE CLASSIFIED

Now in its 16th successful year, the Vancouver International Film Festival’s High School Outreach Program offers a unique opportunity for Vancouver-area students to experience the best that international cinema has to offer. Given that an overwhelming number of films distributed in Canada are made in Hollywood, we like to present a program to counter that fact - a program that reflects the Festival’s “Same Planet, Different Worlds” theme.

Again this year, VIFF is exceptionally pleased to present a selection of dramas and documentaries that are of particular relevance to today’s youth: from underground Cuban rappers and a Spanish 18-year-old girl with something to prove, to a Laotian lad with a rocket and a Saudi girl with change on her mind, the VIFF High-School Outreach Program really does open new windows onto the same planet, but different worlds we all inhabit.

Teachers can book screenings by downloading the PDF form or contacting Helen at marketing-volunteer@viff.org.
